Pre-Professional Division
Ages 7 - 18

IMG_1391.jpg
Beginning with Ballet I, students learn classical ballet technique, focusing on  alignment, discipline, and artistry for progression. Skills are assessed for future class placement, with new students required to take a placement class to determine their level based on age and ability.  This ensures safety and instructional continuity. Explore all of our offerings in the PreProfessional Division, including Conditioning, Junior Ensemble, and Youth Ensemble.

Conditioning

Ballet II and up
Why Conditioning Classes?

Columbia Ballet Academy offers two conditioning classes open to students in Ballet II-V. By having conditioning before students' technique class, this teaches the importance of warming up before dance class. Encouraging movement diversity through play based exercise students will improve long-term athletic development, physical literacy, and athletic motor skills. These skills help build healthy, strong, and well rounded humans and dancers.

Junior Ensemble

Youth Ensemble

*audition required

They will have the opportunity to learn  repertoire and new pieces choreographed for them to perform in Columbia Ballet's free First Friday Performances. Youth Ensemble dancers will also have the opportunity to choreograph on their peers and present that choreography during Choreographer's Showcase. Every year, our Youth Ensemble students attend ballet competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix and Étoile Dance Competition.
