Academy Programs Information

At Columbia Ballet Academy, we recognize the significance of a dance education and its value. That's why we offer a variety of programs. Discover the perfect fit you!

Children's Division - Ages 3-6

This division introduces elements of dance with a professional instructor in a studio environment. Based on creativity, musicality, and imagination, students gain awareness of elements of dance, learn basic technique, and age appropriate steps. More information about the Children's Division Here.

PreBallet I - 3 years old

PreBallet II - 4 years old

Intro to Ballet I - 5 years old

Intro to Ballet II - 6 years old

PreProfessional Division - Ages 7-18

Beginning with Level I, students learn classical ballet technique with an awareness of alignment and discipline, enabling them to progress to higher levels. Mastery of skills is assessed by the instructor and determines class placement for future years. Please see PreProfessional Division for age guidelines and class requirements–the number of classes your student takes will have a significant impact on the speed of their progression, and will affect how long they spend in a given level.

Boys Class

This class is specifically created for boys ages 7-18 as an introduction to ballet with a focus on strength & conditioning, flexibility, and ballet fundamentals. No previous dance training is required.

Open Adult Classes - Teen-Adult

We offer drop-in classes for teen and adult dancers of all levels - whether you are completely new to dance, returning to it after dancing as a child, or a retired professional looking to continue enjoying movement, we can help you find the right class. Please see our Adult Open Classes page for more information.

DanceAbility - Ages 4-Adult

DanceAbility gives dancers with different abilities (ages 4 through adult) an opportunity to learn and explore the world of dance. At this time, space in the DanceAbility program is limited. Please see our DanceAbility page for more information, or  contact us at DanceAbility25@gmail.com

Junior Ensemble and Youth Ensemble (For students Ballet II-V)

By audition only, Junior and Youth Ensemble aims to provide our  students with performance opportunities in a supportive atmosphere. They will have the opportunity to learn repertoire and new pieces choreographed for them to perform in Columbia Ballet's free First Friday performances. Every year, our students are invited to attend ballet competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix and Étoile Dance Competition. Please email us at info@columbiaballet.org for more information or to set up an audition.
